This block is for woven (non-stretch) fabrics and can be used to create:

Oversized shirts and shirt dresses, or
Loose tops and dresses with button-up fronts, and dropped shoulders and armholes

This block is oversized, which means the body and block measurements are different.

FIND YOUR SIZE (see image 7)

Select mannequin (a.k.a dress form) or fit model (i.e. person) you will fit your design on.
Measure hip (A) and waist (B). Hip is 20 cm below waist.
Find size in the Body Measurement Chart (image 7 on the left) with the measurements closest to your hip and waist measurements.
Compare Body & Block Measurement Charts for the size you have selected. Are you happy with the fit? The block hip measurement is 40 cm (15 3/4 in) bigger than the body, so there is 10 cm 'ease' at each side seam.

ADJUST FIT

If your design is more oversized go up one size.
If the difference is too much go down one size. But don’t go too small, this block is not designed to be fitted.

MEASURING TIPS

Make sure measuring tape is parallel to the floor.
Take measurements against the skin (i.e. not over clothes).
Measuring tape should sit firmly, but not too tight.
Measure bust at the fullest part of the chest and the waist at the narrowest part of the waist.
