Jacket lapel & collar pattern drafting course
Course description
Course description
Create a perfectly-tailored lapel and collar using modern drafting techniques.
What you'll learn
- Calculate the right extension for your button size and design.
- Correctly angle breakline and draft your design's lapel.
- How to draft traditional one-piece tailored collars and modern two-piece collars.
Plus! Find how to how to correctly mark and position buttons and buttonholes on single and double breasted jackets.
Why CLIQD is different
Other drafting course and books ONLY teach the traditional tailoring method. This method creates a one-piece collar, which needs to be moulded into the correct shape by skilled machinists.
One-piece collars also have lots of design, fabric and production limitations, so they aren't used in the industry nowadays - even by high-end designers, like Alexander McQueen.
Instead, designers draft two-piece collars, which give consistent results and greater design flexibility.
Watch this video to find out more.
Which collar does this course teach? Both. You'll receive step-by-step instructions to create one and two-piece collars – so you can pick the best option for your design.
